i thought i'd write guide people don't know how format ntfs flash drives hfs+ or fat32 in disk utility. think idea sticky cut down amount of threads , replies link guide. reply , tell me think of guide first one. so, you've plugged in usb drive you've been using pc ages, right? drag file drive, and, oh no! means drive formatted ntfs, file system works microsoft windows. need reformat work mac only, or mac & windows. guide show how. warning: formatting drive erase on it. of files on drive before erasing it. first, find disk utility. if have mac os x tiger, can spotlight search clicking blue magnifying glass symbol in top right hand corner of screen. if don't have tiger, can find disk utility in /applications/utilities. earlier versions of disk utility differ, method should same. open disk utility , see screen looks this. now, find usb drive in left hand menu, , click on it. now, click on 'erase' t...

just curious if else has run ... i'm trying hook apple tv benq dv3080 lcd tv using hdmi dvi cable. when it's connected, doesn't appear tv getting kind of signal. replaced apple tv , cable no success, i'm @ loss. support guys @ benq seemed think had hdcp, i'm not sure ... component cables work, that's ... nice hdmi output working, can switch inputs on tv component inputs in use.   i presume made sure tv switched dvi input , pretty sure not hdcp, apple tv not support it. there different dvi formats on tv geeky names numbers engineer in field find informative. 1 of them making image come out off center. other 1 better, can see cropping small slices of image @ top , bottom. of course cannot sure if tv or apple tv causes problem. maybe, should play more of tv settings. anyways, apparently dvi not fool-proof common standard.   ...

hi everyone, spent yonkers putting dvd of recent holiday, , when went burn idvd prompted me insert blanc dvd, obliged spat out again. went , bought brand new blank dvd-r (+) it's doing exact same thing. it's strange because dvds appearing finder when insert them. i'm running idvd4 on 1.8ghz g5 powermac running 10.3. know problem be?   macs quite picky dvds they'll accept. make sure you're using right kind of disc. powermac doesn't accept dvd+r or dvd+rw discs, dvd-r or dvd-rws. it's possible that, since running 10.3, have older version of idvd doesn't understand dvd+r or dvd+rw discs, yet finder reads them fine.   Forums Macs Mac Basics and Help iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Note...

if sitting next computer, iphone in pocket, pop3 email client such gmail on both devices, , receive email. email go both devices, , when sync computer, impact, if have on either inbox? i'd head around 1 issue... mean... if left office few hours, got few emails, have emails still in mail on mac? , vice verca... how work? in advance thoughts.   pop can confusing enough is, , way gmail works more so. argh. i've seen, if set iphone fetch gmail, pull copy of emails down gmail, still leaves them on gmail server. if check gmail via web interface, emails should still show there. can't use pop keep stuff in sync. if iphone pulls down new email, , read/delete it, gmail server has no clue deleted on iphone, when check gmail via web, email deleted on iphone still sitting there on web part. confused more helped. sorry!   ...
