Troubleshooting: HDMI to DVI with Benq DV3080 LCD TV ...

just curious if else has run ... i'm trying hook apple tv benq dv3080 lcd tv using hdmi dvi cable. when it's connected, doesn't appear tv getting kind of signal.

replaced apple tv , cable no success, i'm @ loss. support guys @ benq seemed think had hdcp, i'm not sure ...

component cables work, that's ... nice hdmi output working, can switch inputs on tv component inputs in use.
 

i presume made sure tv switched dvi input , pretty sure not hdcp, apple tv not support it. there different dvi formats on tv geeky names numbers engineer in field find informative. 1 of them making image come out off center. other 1 better, can see cropping small slices of image @ top , bottom. of course cannot sure if tv or apple tv causes problem. maybe, should play more of tv settings.

anyways, apparently dvi not fool-proof common standard.

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

How to best wire an entire house mac...(I want a touch screen in my bathroom)

so here's basic idea- have 2 floor apartment , want have total access media @ times. here thoughts on want , how i'm guess done, need advice... watching movies/divx/etc macmini plugged hdtv . mini serve primary machine in apartment. stream videos external hd bay connected airport extreme. control of machine wireless computer concealed tinted glass. itunes direct connection macmini surround receiver first floor. itunes stream airport express base stations upstairs , on terrace, including bathrooms. control of system problem prefer keep on primary machine downstairs, interested in 2 things. if wanted change music playing, don't want have go downstairs, nor want have separate machine control upstairs. investigating touch screens, or using macbook when upstairs or on terrace. there way gain control of macmini on network using different machines in house? program: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-us/products/synchron...
