last week dad let me borrow digital camera. told me careful not delete pictures had there of land property (he in real state). copied pictures in camera mac , emptied memory. took lot of pictures , when done gave him empty. asked images had in there needed. had forgot them. thought had placed them in folder in desktop had clean now. went panic. started searching , searching sure had deleted them mistake. (world of warcraft/halo etc..) upon digging deep computer extract blue motherboard, found ati x1600 caked thermal paste. flaked off. compleetely useless. northbridge , cd2 merom okay, not paste. removed remaining thermal paste rubbing alchohol , non static cloth. (you can use coffee filters if you're worried not being gounded. use grounding strip , pad) , applied arctic silver 5 chips. use buisness card spread small paste evenly on chip. not use razor blade! can damage die there no protective heatsink! once chips sufficiently glazed as5, reassembly began. painstaking process correctly. trusty 15" macbook pro take apart manual easy keep track of everything. there screw order re-seating motherboard! not rand...

well, last night received ibook 700 g3(os x 10.3) purchased on ebay. got home, booted , ibook seems work fine, first 5 10 minutes it's running. then, system stops responding. none of icons or 'windows' work, no keyboard response either. cold shutdown work. once rebooted, works fine, again after 5 10 minutes, system ceases respond. thought maybe power management settings cause, set "never" sleep, hibernate, etc. didn't make difference. don't know if there kind of hardware issue, or strictly software related. on way work afternoon occurred me try booting old os 9.** kernel, noticed present. thoughts?   first thing, did try repairing disk permissions in disk utility? second, can track cpu-usage in activity monitor during 5-10 mins , see if spikes. should try booting safe-mode , see if problem re-occurs: http://docs.info.apple.com/article...

i picked new mbp last thursday. had called 3 of local apple retail stores twice day entire week. on thursday morning got 1 in , held me, picked later night. i'm not stranger apple products... grew on macos 7.6... sucked. remember getting bombs time no other option "reboot". i'm thrilled mbp though... device structurally sound (it doesn't feel cheap old dell) , os complements hardware. think apple has switcher! anyway onto issues... 1) when looking @ lcd pretty anywhere other straight on color changes drastically (this doesn't happen buddies thinkpad). think might norm other mbps , think want stick lcd since it's lg. 2) shift key squeaks 100% of time 3) trackpad uneven how difficult #2 , #3 replaced , apple fix first time around? don't want loose lcd since it's lg they'd replacing top part anyway right?   Forums ...

i bought ipod hifi sister's birthday, tried out @ weekend. sounds amazing have query remote control... pressing "menu" button on remote doesn't appear - light flashes amber. seems can adjust volume or skip forward/back through tracks. seems bit odd me can't main menu. tried apple remote hifi , did same thing. normal operation or wrong here?
