so purchased macbook pro 2.4 17inch , i'm having issues external sound card/interface. i'm using mbox (digi design) bought 4 years installed using standalone driver. main use of mbp music production (logic, live, native instruments etc). ever since switched on g5 mbp i've noticed issues clipping & pauses during production sessions. wierd since processor better in mbp g5 doesn't make sense have more clipping. when i'm using itunes listening song clipping when open application. i've checked in mac genious on , don't know anything. looked on digi design site see if there known issues don't see anything. has else heard of compatability issues mbox & mbp? thnx seb   assuming you're connecting mbox via usb, might matter usb port you're using. try left-side port farthest magsafe inlet , let know if still clipping. sr mbp models...

hi, i'm planning on buying used ibook g3 300mhz clamshell 512mb ram, 3gb hdd. want know how small can make 10.2 and/or 10.3 (with updates, etc) run on 3gb drive. preferably want use panther, no tiger presently, that's out of question, plus ibook not have firewire. plan use ibook safari browsing , word 2004 (or .x), yeah..   i believe if leave out extras, can install down little on 1gb. it's been while since did stripped down install, pretty sure that's range. under 2gb in case, should have enough space copy of word , few files.. 1 suggestion: if you're comfortable poking around inside computer, might see if can find older ~10gb drive replace 3gb 1 with. not space, speed, since you'll limiting access faster part of drive. know i've got @ least 1 6gb 2.5" drive laying around @ work, i'd guess buying 1 used can't expensive... ...

hi i'm in uk , work 3 win xp pro machines (2 desktops , 1 laptop), 1 of acts server centrally storing working files (word, access databases, excel, etc). want buy mbp , know mbp can open/edit/write files on xp machine stores files. thinking of getting separate network storage box , having attached router , using pcs , mpb access. want mbp able access network storage box through osx (leopard) , through parallels/vmware version of xp pro running on mbp. wondered if give advice when buying such box , if there config issues consider mbp accessing box through both osx , xp pro. in advance.   you can access shared drives on pc mac. isn't problem, hd needs formated in fat32 can read , write. ntfs not work out of box unless purchase software mac. if have fat32 drive on winxp server , share on network can mount on mac , away go. stig   ...
