iBook G3 Clam+10.2/10.3 BARE install

hi,
i'm planning on buying used ibook g3 300mhz clamshell 512mb ram, 3gb hdd. want know how small can make 10.2 and/or 10.3 (with updates, etc) run on 3gb drive. preferably want use panther, no tiger presently, that's out of question, plus ibook not have firewire. plan use ibook safari browsing , word 2004 (or .x), yeah..

 

i believe if leave out extras, can install down little on 1gb. it's been while since did stripped down install, pretty sure that's range. under 2gb in case, should have enough space copy of word , few files..

1 suggestion: if you're comfortable poking around inside computer, might see if can find older ~10gb drive replace 3gb 1 with. not space, speed, since you'll limiting access faster part of drive.

know i've got @ least 1 6gb 2.5" drive laying around @ work, i'd guess buying 1 used can't expensive...

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

New iMac here - LOVING the Mighty Mouse

i have mbp, , talked wife getting imac after dell (she loathed machine, made sell easy) crapped bed. when deciding on bluetooth mouse mbp, passed on mighty mouse wireles becasue of review here seemed negative. ordered corded version imac came friday. long story short, have been using mm , found quite enjoyable! in fact prefer logitech v220 im using now. found out have tendency lift left finger off botton when using normal 2 button mouse. made use of mm natural me. absolute best part of mm freaking scroll ball. orgasmic use!! l o v e mechanical smoothness , feel of ball in motion. using app steermouse able fine tune puppy perfect. on fence mm, let me assure pretty awesome, , person ultra picky point of ocd mice.   good review! imac prepared shipping, should coming in few days. i'm going using standard wired mm comes it, positive feedback on it. worried going horrible,...
