so amazing iphone is, i'm having 1 problem it. can't text of friends , parents because speak spanish. it's not impossible, it'll correct word don't catch , girlfriend "why telling me hold?" hello, hope can this. colleague has brought in macboook (dual 2gig blackbook - 10.4.10) today because it's having few issues. had told me couldn't attach files e-mails said i'd take look, expecting simple no file type on file names or something. there seems problem moving files desktop, creating folders on desktop etc.. if try move file desktop says: "the finder cannot complete operation because data in "filename.doc" not read or written. (error code -36)." there still 18gb left on drive it's not psace issue, i've checked read/write permissions, fine. i've repaired permissions too.. nothing major there. if try create new folder on desktop seems reboot finder. title bar , hd icon on desktop disappear temporarily reappear no folder created. :edit: file vault turned on. have no experience file vault @ all.. feature of it? or artefact of it? ideas? thanks, ben   ...

ok, earlier today wanted rid of dashboard , on forums , gave me instructions involving kill dock command, etc... doing few things make macbook run smoother , whenever start it, resets itself. wallpaper same, applications there....but when click on of them if first time started, click msn , asks me email address is, click on firefox asks me if want make default browser, etc... other things reset, mouse cursor slow, have reset prefs, assign right click on mighty mouse.... know 1 of knows did....please help!   more info stuff wallpaper remains, applications act if have never been run, example itunes...i turn on , there no songs on it, have re-load them.... changed dock appear off screen, when reboot, it's way originally.... s.o.s.   Forums Macs Notebooks ...

this strange one. found after getting australia last week whenever boot mac pro opens dvd drive before continuing boot. chain of events: press power button on front of tower the chime sounds internal speaker; solid grey screen appears the dvd drive opens (and stays open) the darker-grey apple logo appears @ centre of screen the system continues boot log-in screen. anyone got ideas or how fix it? when tried update efi firmware found dvd drive open , firmware wouldn't update; fixed when new version (i.e. third version after release of mac pro) of efi firmware came out machine updated fine. tried resetting smc controller using button on logic board, seems have had no effect. earlier today ran software update , found new version of smc firmware waiting me; downloaded , updated that, , dvd drive opened in same way before progress bar appeared update smc firmware. pretty odd!   no sugge...
