Brand new iPod nano is completely unresponsive


i received brand new 8 gb ipod nano apple store week ago. started giving me problems immediately, freezing on screens, ejecting in middle of data transfer, etc. able reset each time , working. installed software updates, there no improvement. has stopped responding altogether. charged fully, when plug in, mbp not recognize it. not respond being reset anymore. there else can do, or need serviced? :confused: thanks!
 

try toggling hold switch , try reset.
try re-installing itunes , trying other usb ports.
