center city philadelphia macintosh users group in need of in maintaining existing infrastructure. specifically, following areas in need:
  • raffle / promotion organization: seeking individuals maintain , respond large amounts of email inquiries receive various companies contacting new companies request upcoming presentations. promotional materials large part of our monthly meetings , having strong support greatly.
  • bloggers: have open blog available wishes write. our web site, on average, receives approximately 16k 18k hits per month (which regional non-profit computer group). if write on subject (so long it's not illegal or adult in nature , has computers and/or macintoshes) please contact me immediately.
  • newsletter editor(s): our newsletter needs taken next step , looking person has drive , creativity it. more available make our content, stronger group.
  • web site content administrator(s): maintaining links , event dates on our web site can become quite task 1 person branching out , asking help. mentioned above, our web site see approximately 16k 18k of hits per month , increase that. great opportunity wants feet wet web development.
  • video tutors: brand new idea hoping take off. if create simple "novice/intermediate" level video tutorials on macintosh-related subjects, please contact me. have studio , equipment available shoot low-budget video , believe members greatly.
  • podcaster(s): podcast started group, unsure of focus yet (maybe post-meeting wrap-up?). if brand new podcast started or have great ideas share, we'd love hear you!
  • product reviewers: have potential of receiving large amount of review products unfortunately, don't have review them. need people diligent , time-sensitive want review products (that receive free in cases). if sounds you, please contact me.
  • group promotions: large part of non-profit group getting our name out public. looking ambitious people can promote name , goal of group using means necessary (within legal limitations of course). if create advertisements, promotions , promotional materials please contact immeadiately!
while non-paying gig non-profit group (as in nobody works with/for group gets paid including myself), offering helps on regular basis free access our meetings our monthly raffles (excluding yearly member raffle items). come part of great in center city area. there lot of potential group, need right people make happen!

ok want macbook. im waiting couple of things. first of leapord of course. secondly when next hardware update going happen because figure must judgeing when last update was. things thats holding me getting 1 graphics card. want light video editing such capturing footage or small sd projects use imac hd , large project editing. light gaming, aoe iii, battlefield games, , wow. can wait while before end of year/ january. when guys think update happen (i know there bunch of speculation already) , if not guys think should go ahead , macbook (after leapord update of course). im not looking absolutly stellar performance in editing , gaming, have desktop that, travel , general use. dont want 1 of people goes "well whats coming should wait that" because in computers never end. im in bit of conundrum, guys think should do?   also if possible can tell me gma 950 card far how video preview works fin...

Powerbook G4 power issue

good evening , first post =) i'll try start out on right foot , sound half-way intelligent. acquired gimped powerbook g4 1 of our 'daughter' companies. laptop works fine when using a/c adapter. if unplug a/c adapter while power on, screen/keyboard lights go off. however, hard drive still spinning. if plug a/c adapter in, lcd backlight comes on, not display on screen. have hold power button down few seconds power down completely. upon turning on, works fine again. sound battery issue or motherboard problem? have checked battery serial number against recall list , 1 supposably good. in advance!   to me sounds hardware (or possibly software) problem. run permissions repair (using disc utility) , make sure software date (use software update check). fresh install of osx may solve too, had similar problem ibook , sorted it, may motherboard issue; if have hardware test disc, run...

Apple Script

okay im going lay down problem explian have tried. cool responces. problem have external program saves files path blaa/blaa/movies way in saves these movies compreses movies files 1 file in folder. eg puts different compents folder bundles them delates orginals. problem disc saving doesnt have enough room movies needs store. cant set location of store movies have try route them somewhere. first of when tried making alias folder on different disk program gave me message saying cant save file. thinking of thought make workflow gets items in folder movies them location. tested work flow , worked perfectly. problem getting automated when ever file made in directory. script came , attacheted vie folder actions doesnt work ??? wtf?? help? on adding folder items this_folder after receiving added_items tell application "macintosh hd:users:username:library:workflows:applications:folder actions:moviefile.app" open added_items end...
