i have yahoo account, ends swbell.net instead of yahoo.com, because att (previously sbc, swbell) uses them customers' email. anyway, after previous iphone update on august 2, couldn't send email account. people reported talking apple, yahoo , att, , each company point finger @ another. convinced apple issue, related not realizing people have yahoo accounts don't have yahoo.com address. example, had configure account "myemail@swbell.net@yahoo.com." figured during aug 2 update, apple changed broke workaround. looks right, because 1.1.1 update, address field yahoo account free-form, , can send email account again. not many people posted it, guess few of still have our old swbell, sbcglobal, etc., accounts. it's nice apple fixed it. wish did sooner separate update, rather wait bundle lots of other stuff.   i having same problems sbcglobal account. told yah...

since pc died i'm using macbook desktop replacement, when i'm @ desk, plug in monitor, logitech g5 mouse , generic pc (uk) keyboard. i've got mouse doing want, combination of tiger's built in expose shortcut options , steermouse remaining thing i'd solve rearranging modifier keys on keyboard, , if can multimedia keys work i'd pleased! ctrl, windows (cmd) , alt keys work, they're in different order apple keyboard, , not present on right side. i'd map : alt cmd, windows alt, ctrl ctrl (still) have 'right click' button, doesn't anything... might nice make useful. know of possible system preferences pane, laptop keyboard affected. don't want have switch everytime leave/enter desk. 2 solutions can think of are: 1. remap external keyboard how 2. use location manager detect when external keyboard plugged in, remap keys (but can't remember find such program) ideas?!...

ever since apple released updates new sr mbps (the nvidia updates) , 10.4.10 update along audio fix, boot times have been ridiculous.. remember when first got it, loaded os x within minute.. when start up, takes 45 seconds apple logo show up, , after takes 30 seconds password screen. once put in password, takes 20-30 seconds load everything.. in total takes 1 minute 45 seconds boot cold start.. same hot restart well.. happening after have installed updates, , don't have start-up items except steermouse. haven't installed on computer except 2 games , couple of additional programs.. other sr mbp users getting on boot times?   mine takes forever too, have nothing compare other imac core duo brand new mbp takes forever boot   Forums Macs Notebooks ...

this may not right area post in, i'm not sure else quite fits. i've got imac , moved yamaha p120 digital piano office. since have nice speakers imac, want use them piano (its internal speakers aren't great). going through line-in on imac not option...it's laggy , inconvenient. have couple headphone y-adapters...so 1 end go speakers, , other 2 go imac , piano, respectively. question using y-adapter. bad of electronics involved? have friend electrical engineer, , says shouldn't it. reasoning imac , piano both pushing out signals (power), , y-adapter turns 1-way street three-way traffic jam. says since output signal coming imac go both other ends on adapter, damage on ports on piano designed output , not input. same true, says, if piano outputting audio , tries go headphone port on imac. i've got powerbook, , i'm having issue of computer not realizing has bluetooth (built in). i've read bunch of other threads of people issue, seems common problem. summary of problem: got computer 2 years ago, , bluetooth worked day. haven't had bluetooth devices until now, i've never worried fixing much. don't have bluetooth icon in menu bar, system preference pane doesn't show up, , system profiler says don't have bluetooth device (under bluetooth or usb). fixes i've tried: i've had computer couple years, restarting not going magically fix it. bluetooth firmware update - won't run because says don't have bluetooth hardware. deleted bluetooth plist files both home directory , root's. reset pram. did reset-all open firmware. reset pmu. i've unplugged everything, taken battery out 10 min, , started up. haven't reinstalled os because don't have install d...
