so i've been reading advantages , disadvantages of splitting dual-channel ram in order upgrade, i'm still not clear on something;
2gb of ram came stock in santa rosa mbp, 2 1gb sticks, in dual channel mode? , if so, have single expansion slot? had thought/hoped add 2gb either 2 1gb dimms or else single 2gb dimm, without breaking dual-channel functionality. incorrect?
said, have been reading through various posts on subject, can't figure out whether breaking-dual-channel applies srs or not...
your new mbp has 2 slots. filled 1gb each. upgrade, can either replace 1 or both 2gb, giving 3gb or 4gb total ram depending on way go.
understanding better ram performance if run both same size because run in dual-channel mode.
