ran fsck -y after reboot issue. what now?

hi,

got morning , found white icon (looks white hard drive) "seagate 4" had mysteriously appeared on desktop. other seagate external hds showing okay on desktop. tried ejecting them all, couldn't. apple mail kept bouncing in dock when tried open up. shut os down.

on reboot, got chime , spinning wheel thingy. tried 3 or 4 times.

luckily still have pc , googled do. decided go straight fsck. ran fsck -y twice. got green light.

fsck reported there problems block count, file match, file mach.sym (i think .sym), swapfile0, catalog hierarchy, , "volume bitmap needs minor repair."

there should now? apart backing up!

thanks,
nobob.

you'll need f.

code:
/sbin/fsck -fy

too. this'll repair errors though. :)
