Help please ! Problem with running XP on apple monitor

hi forum members, wondering whether of people me problem experiencing apple monitor.

i've had friend custom build me pc , using asus 8800 gts graphics card.

monitor using old style apple 23" cinema display, , bought adc dvi adaptor - adaptor 1 lead plugs dvi input socket @ of computer, , 1 usb lead plugged usb port @ of computer also. going great first 2 weeks, monitor temporarily go blank (ie if switched off or in sleep mode) second or two. last thursday, picture go off long periods - computer assume still working, because hear windows start sound, couldn't see picture. when screen did come up, there message not recognising hardware, , screen dimmed. after jiggling around wires, , switching usb ports @ back, screen bright , situation seemed remedied.

unfortunately yesterday started having same problem again after start - screen did not seem bright , half way through digitising cd in i-tunes, screen went blank again. cd kept playing, operating system seemed working no probs. not picture again, , after hard re-boot, there still no screen picture, though hear windows booting up. it's if screen in permanent sleep mode can not woken up.

can forum members recommend remedy ? or have experienced similar problems, or found work around ? don't want buy new monitor, apple monitor.

good evening , first post =) i'll try start out on right foot , sound half-way intelligent. acquired gimped powerbook g4 1 of our 'daughter' companies. laptop works fine when using a/c adapter. if unplug a/c adapter while power on, screen/keyboard lights go off. however, hard drive still spinning. if plug a/c adapter in, lcd backlight comes on, not display on screen. have hold power button down few seconds power down completely. upon turning on, works fine again. sound battery issue or motherboard problem? have checked battery serial number against recall list , 1 supposably good. in advance!   to me sounds hardware (or possibly software) problem. run permissions repair (using disc utility) , make sure software date (use software update check). fresh install of osx may solve too, had similar problem ibook , sorted it, may motherboard issue; if have hardware test disc, run...

MacBook hang up PLEASE HELP!

ok want macbook. im waiting couple of things. first of leapord of course. secondly when next hardware update going happen because figure must judgeing when last update was. things thats holding me getting 1 graphics card. want light video editing such capturing footage or small sd projects use imac hd , large project editing. light gaming, aoe iii, battlefield games, , wow. can wait while before end of year/ january. when guys think update happen (i know there bunch of speculation already) , if not guys think should go ahead , macbook (after leapord update of course). im not looking absolutly stellar performance in editing , gaming, have desktop that, travel , general use. dont want 1 of people goes "well whats coming should wait that" because in computers never end. im in bit of conundrum, guys think should do?   also if possible can tell me gma 950 card far how video preview works fin...

okay im going lay down problem explian have tried. cool responces. problem have external program saves files path blaa/blaa/movies way in saves these movies compreses movies files 1 file in folder. eg puts different compents folder bundles them delates orginals. problem disc saving doesnt have enough room movies needs store. cant set location of store movies have try route them somewhere. first of when tried making alias folder on different disk program gave me message saying cant save file. thinking of thought make workflow gets items in folder movies them location. tested work flow , worked perfectly. problem getting automated when ever file made in directory. script came , attacheted vie folder actions doesnt work ??? wtf?? help? on adding folder items this_folder after receiving added_items tell application "macintosh hd:users:username:library:workflows:applications:folder actions:moviefile.app" open added_items end...
