OSX not remembering wireless network password

i picked cisco 851w wireless router play around (studying ccna, , having cisco gear play read book helps lot :d) have existing wireless network netgear router (which obviously, $300 cisco router puts shame ;)). so, i've been doing lot of switching between wireless networks configure things , need on network test , whatnot. both networks use wpa.

every time switch network i'm on, either cisco netgear, or netgear cisco, apple menu, osx asks me enter password. enter network password, click "remember in keychain" (or whatever says) , connects. it's not storing in keychain. every time switch network, asks me. check box, doesn't store it.

if turn airport off, either menu, or putting powerbook sleep , waking up, connect whichever network on last without asking me password. if manually switch, ask me, which, when switching every couple minutes sometimes, extremely annoying. did repair permissions, thinking maybe couldn't write keychain file, didn't work. ideas?
