i bought iphone @ at&t store in columbus, oh around 7:30 pm last friday. @ same time, purchased 3 motorola razr phones family , signed at&t's family plan. 1 of lines in family plan port verizon. port went through instantaneously.
got home , started iphone activation around 9:45 pm et. activation involved adding additional line new family plan. new line port existing line verizon account. @ 9:57 pm et, received e-mail itunes stored stating, "at&t processing activation".
@ 5:47 et on june 30th, received e-mail itunes store stating, "congratulations, at&t transferring existing mobile number iphone". @ 5:48 et on june 30th, received e-mail itunes store stating, "congratulations, at&t transferring existing mobile number iphone". @ time, use of features of iphone except receiving calls.
@ around 4:00 pm et on june 30th, called at&t inquire number transfer. apple rep joined call , stated due large amount of number transfers, taking longer process transfer. told transfer should complete on morning of july 1st.
@ 9:00 on july 1st, called mobile number see if went verizon phone or iphone. call came through iphone, making activation , number transfer complete.
@ 5:48 on july 2nd, received e-mail itunes store stating, "congratulations, at&t has transferred existing mobile number."

at&t appears having problems existing at&t (cingular) customers more new customers. have been waiting on 22 hours far. when call provisioned go ... nothing happening. last csr spoke indicated systems not prepared deal volume of activations received. think attention iphone receiving have been better prepared.
