Getting a MacBook?

hi everyone, name nina, , new forum. have been windows user whole life, ever since past summer have been looking @ getting macbook several reasons. 16 , go performing arts charter school of classes online courses. have dell inspiron 1501 , it's pretty heavy lug around in school. macbook lot less bulky. love size of it, perfect bookbag. new os take while used to, intrigued macs , think change one. have heard macs no viruses, great thing because not have worry buying anti virus software. needs macbook be: homework, word processing, internet browsing, , maybe little photo/video editing using ilife tools. looking @ either base model @ $1099 or midrange model @ $1299.

when asked family getting new computer myself, made deal. had work , come @ least $300 or more , dad , grandparents pay rest. far have $100 , getting more money (i artist , custom commissions on drawings people). family , going macoutfitters store on oct 14th can see macbook , find out monthly payments be, see financing options, etc.

wondering if should wait new leopard os come shipped on new mb's before buy one, or should 1 right has tiger? tips new mac user welcome. of have macbooks now, how them?

should wait leopard? depends need machine now? want wait till it's released? i'm rubbish @ waiting!
remember can buy leopard later if feel need it.

ok want macbook. im waiting couple of things. first of leapord of course. secondly when next hardware update going happen because figure must judgeing when last update was. things thats holding me getting 1 graphics card. want light video editing such capturing footage or small sd projects use imac hd , large project editing. light gaming, aoe iii, battlefield games, , wow. can wait while before end of year/ january. when guys think update happen (i know there bunch of speculation already) , if not guys think should go ahead , macbook (after leapord update of course). im not looking absolutly stellar performance in editing , gaming, have desktop that, travel , general use. dont want 1 of people goes "well whats coming should wait that" because in computers never end. im in bit of conundrum, guys think should do?   also if possible can tell me gma 950 card far how video preview works fin...

Powerbook G4 power issue

good evening , first post =) i'll try start out on right foot , sound half-way intelligent. acquired gimped powerbook g4 1 of our 'daughter' companies. laptop works fine when using a/c adapter. if unplug a/c adapter while power on, screen/keyboard lights go off. however, hard drive still spinning. if plug a/c adapter in, lcd backlight comes on, not display on screen. have hold power button down few seconds power down completely. upon turning on, works fine again. sound battery issue or motherboard problem? have checked battery serial number against recall list , 1 supposably good. in advance!   to me sounds hardware (or possibly software) problem. run permissions repair (using disc utility) , make sure software date (use software update check). fresh install of osx may solve too, had similar problem ibook , sorted it, may motherboard issue; if have hardware test disc, run...

okay im going lay down problem explian have tried. cool responces. problem have external program saves files path blaa/blaa/movies way in saves these movies compreses movies files 1 file in folder. eg puts different compents folder bundles them delates orginals. problem disc saving doesnt have enough room movies needs store. cant set location of store movies have try route them somewhere. first of when tried making alias folder on different disk program gave me message saying cant save file. thinking of thought make workflow gets items in folder movies them location. tested work flow , worked perfectly. problem getting automated when ever file made in directory. script came , attacheted vie folder actions doesnt work ??? wtf?? help? on adding folder items this_folder after receiving added_items tell application "macintosh hd:users:username:library:workflows:applications:folder actions:moviefile.app" open added_items end...
