i'm on second imac in week (my first 1 decided didn't want turn on anymore) , i'm having serious problem overheating. whenever burn cd or read cd (for example, installing windows xp) machine shuts down no warning or anything. assume it's overheating because, can't see other reason this. disks hot when eject them.
i'm considering getting rid of imac , switching windows, after singing imacs praises in thread. these first ever imac's , haven't made impression. when works it's incredable, i'm on second 1 because of stupid problems them.
had experience before , know how fix it?
in advance.
i wouldn't rule out overheating, virtually every imac in past 3 years spits out fiery hot discs when you're done (including original imac g5 i'm typing on right now).
uneducated guess spinning cd drive doesn't generate enough heat cause computer burn up. said, can download kind of diagnostic software gauge computer's temp. intel users, suggestions?
