wanting to speed up encoding

i have older computer trying turn media pc. right in process of ripping dvd's iso on computer, , using handbrake convert them format can import itunes can share movies other computers/devices in house.

however, right computer saying handbrake going take 9 hours conversion 1 iso (and looks of actual file, think take long).

elgato's turbo.264 this? can used take iso, or dvd , turn mp4? or intended converting other video types mp4?

also, have windows pc turn media pc well, slow. know of (like turbo.264) explained above on windows box?

help.
 

don't use h.264, takes ever without nice hardware. use different setting in handbreak, dvd, don't make iso of it, unless need special.

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

How to best wire an entire house mac...(I want a touch screen in my bathroom)

so here's basic idea- have 2 floor apartment , want have total access media @ times. here thoughts on want , how i'm guess done, need advice... watching movies/divx/etc macmini plugged hdtv . mini serve primary machine in apartment. stream videos external hd bay connected airport extreme. control of machine wireless computer concealed tinted glass. itunes direct connection macmini surround receiver first floor. itunes stream airport express base stations upstairs , on terrace, including bathrooms. control of system problem prefer keep on primary machine downstairs, interested in 2 things. if wanted change music playing, don't want have go downstairs, nor want have separate machine control upstairs. investigating touch screens, or using macbook when upstairs or on terrace. there way gain control of macmini on network using different machines in house? program: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-us/products/synchron...
