Upgraded from 100GB to 200GB in MBP 17"

last night upgraded original 100gb 200gb drive last night!

when bought mbp in march standard drive 5000rpm 160gb. saved $100 buying 7200rpm 100gb drive @ time.

well, adding boot camp , other stuff made 100gb drive disappear pretty quickly. went dealmac.com , saw hitachi travelstar 7k200 200gb drive zipzoomfly.com $210... delivered!

thinking of wating 200gb seagate seek time slower (12ms versus 10ms) hitachi.

called around service guy swap out , no 1 less $90.

did in 30 minutes.

didn't scratch paint (or metal or plastic)!

of have 17" mbp , want upgrade, easier 15" used tutorials on ifixit.com. top comes right off without having wiggle frame or pop plastic snaps.

best thing i've done since buying mac in first place.
 

you should have posted pics , step-by-step want try it. great work.

now, let's see if can 15" mbp. btw, impressions of new drive? heat? noise? battery consumption?

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

How to best wire an entire house mac...(I want a touch screen in my bathroom)

so here's basic idea- have 2 floor apartment , want have total access media @ times. here thoughts on want , how i'm guess done, need advice... watching movies/divx/etc macmini plugged hdtv . mini serve primary machine in apartment. stream videos external hd bay connected airport extreme. control of machine wireless computer concealed tinted glass. itunes direct connection macmini surround receiver first floor. itunes stream airport express base stations upstairs , on terrace, including bathrooms. control of system problem prefer keep on primary machine downstairs, interested in 2 things. if wanted change music playing, don't want have go downstairs, nor want have separate machine control upstairs. investigating touch screens, or using macbook when upstairs or on terrace. there way gain control of macmini on network using different machines in house? program: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-us/products/synchron...
