i've had same issues wifi on macbook pro. seems issue latest version of tiger (10.4.10) because prior the update, wireless worked perfectly.

unfortunately i've not been able uncover temporary fix this.

since 10.4.10 i'm having issues, sudden disconnection of wifi. strange, btw. using cisco vpn client. there repeater 10 m away have machine. think did not happen 10.4.9, may mistaken.
cisco vpn client has sort of issues, disconnection has nothing them, not time (the linux version worst, , windows.. bad linux one.) in case dropped , signal strength dropped zero, after minutes reconnects... maybe repeater faulty.

nope problem seems occur when using 'n' im thinking maybe router related? im still not convinced 100% college has newer v2 version of router(wnr834b) , has problem..

switched router 54g , problems seem have gone away..

    surely has driver related?

    i haven't had problems 1 linksys router i've connected to, g-router. had no problems netgear g-router, haven't tried 1 of n-routers.

d-link dir-655, while not cheap, works fine. got configurability , gigabit ethernet plus n-wifi.

    your netgear router using(wnr834b) v2?

macbook 2 months old , imac 2 weeks old, can assume draft'n' parts of netgear router 54g works flawlessly no dropouts, 'n' connection fix , enabler dropped out within 5 minutes.

annoying thing fact macbook work hours without dropouts starts , becomes more apparent. cant see how macbook colleges 1 week old macbook same same router....

aww trip apple shop me tomorrow spend more money on airport base station guess..

thank god crazy overtime rates ;)

    andy.

well suspicions correct,1 airport extreme(gigabit), 24 hours later , hammering mb last night , morning(on batt , best battery life) shows no signs of signal drop. haven't had turn off airport once!!

me anyways looks problem netgear v1 wnr834b.
