Any new ideas on "Syncing 2 Macs"

same old question.. holy grail.. etc

has there been update on old question of syncing between 2 macs? :rolleyes:

have intel imac , mbp. sync user account between them (and keep , manage libraries of iphoto, itunes & iweb 60g).

1. @ moment using carbon copy cloner sync. hassle seem have clone whole drive. (btw possible clone user folder? there "other" files missing , need include?)

2. think solved if bought server edition, expensive outlay (although prob cheap copy of tiger server leopard due out - want leopard!! not enough $$$$ server)

3. dream app's (mda) portal not ready yet , there no time scale.. sound perfect...

superduper has ability incremental updates, syncing might faster that. i'm not sure if ccc has feature or not. careful, though -- can use superduper home folder, make contents of disk clone contain home folder. if did laptop desktop, that'd wipe out system partitions on target system. if had home folder on separate partition, work fine.

still, it's not ideal, , no, don't think ideal solution kind of syncing there yet. best 1 i've come cheapest, use 'rsync' command keep home directories in sync. long ssh enabled on machine, it'd like

rsync -e ssh -auv /users/username/ targetmachine:/users/username

you'd want run on whichever machine you'd been using recently, , have keep in head, sort of. not ideal either, things, might fine.

there recent posting on this, well, believe other users posted software suggestions. remember @ end of thread feeling answer still -- it's 100 times easier synced big things, not worry being in sync. or use 1 machine more or less everything.

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

How to best wire an entire house mac...(I want a touch screen in my bathroom)

so here's basic idea- have 2 floor apartment , want have total access media @ times. here thoughts on want , how i'm guess done, need advice... watching movies/divx/etc macmini plugged hdtv . mini serve primary machine in apartment. stream videos external hd bay connected airport extreme. control of machine wireless computer concealed tinted glass. itunes direct connection macmini surround receiver first floor. itunes stream airport express base stations upstairs , on terrace, including bathrooms. control of system problem prefer keep on primary machine downstairs, interested in 2 things. if wanted change music playing, don't want have go downstairs, nor want have separate machine control upstairs. investigating touch screens, or using macbook when upstairs or on terrace. there way gain control of macmini on network using different machines in house? program: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-us/products/synchron...
