Need help recording samples from my vinyl to garageband

hi trying record vestax decks ,to macbook, have put phono leads {2 phono 1 phono connecter} of mixer macbook ,changed system preferences line input.....,then tryed record vinyl in podcast under real instrument, still no luck.....just picking sound thru mic still dont make sense?.....
tryed record threw normal sounds under deck symbol...but still no luck...
please 1 in way.....am doing wrong?.....surely 1 on here has had same problem no doubt, please if u reply post appreciated......cause i'm goner smash me macbook otherwise.....lol....

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

How to best wire an entire house mac...(I want a touch screen in my bathroom)

so here's basic idea- have 2 floor apartment , want have total access media @ times. here thoughts on want , how i'm guess done, need advice... watching movies/divx/etc macmini plugged hdtv . mini serve primary machine in apartment. stream videos external hd bay connected airport extreme. control of machine wireless computer concealed tinted glass. itunes direct connection macmini surround receiver first floor. itunes stream airport express base stations upstairs , on terrace, including bathrooms. control of system problem prefer keep on primary machine downstairs, interested in 2 things. if wanted change music playing, don't want have go downstairs, nor want have separate machine control upstairs. investigating touch screens, or using macbook when upstairs or on terrace. there way gain control of macmini on network using different machines in house? program: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-us/products/synchron...
