Parallels/VMWare/Bootcamp - What and in Which Order

i think of has been discussed here before - trying overview of current concise opinions:

have spare xp home license retired beige box use on 2.2ghz/2gb/120gb sr mbp. main reasons resorting windows (mbp first mac , love , it’s unbelievable how clumsy windows looks after you’ve seen light…) are:

- small residual bunch of programs cannot replaced native os x software (home banking being main concern here…)
- some “older” games have , play (ranging starcraft warcraft iii al way oblivion), older mean pre-dx10

comes down virtualization , bootcamp. suppose virtualization not fast enough game related or wouldn’t it? appears using bootcamp , virtualization require 2 windows licenses (bummer). if, however, still decide both – should install first?

respect virtualization main concern 120gb hard disk space – not much, plan upgrade time next year that’s stuck with. aside recent swing in opinions vmware superior parallels: there difference between 2 regards required hard disk space? , how easy uninstall? remember trying rid of vmware on windows – not nice experience.

cheers,
dembo

for games should go bootcamp.

can use both vmware , parallels running off bootcamp partition, not require license (althoght there may issues activating it, have never had problem, has had problem should chime in @ point. or questions on @ te vmware forums if noone responds.). has advantage of having best of both worlds, meaning can use windows through visualistation , speed rebooting , switching windows. saves space not having have both bootcamp , vm taking room.

space both vmware , parallels major space hog installation of virtual machine same both programs.

uninstalling, vmware comes uninstaller script run , removes application went looking around , found lots of hidden files , folders strewn on computer not happy about.

vmware vs parallels, prefer parallels customer support non existant. vmware reasonably unstable on machine parallels has been rock solid, 1 crash in on year. vmware matures sure these bugs ironed out , make number 1 option.
