Transfering Data

i'm planning on buying new imac soon. want transfer data old 1.33 ghz g4 ibook new imac via ethernet cable. need crossover cable or regular ethernet cable work??

reason why ask because looked on apple's page list macs require crossover cable, , ibook listed both requiring crossover cable , not requiring one.

first list says ibooks (with dual usb , later) don't require crossover cable. second list says "ibook" , "firewire ibook" do require crossover cable.

ibook has 2 usb ports , firewire port, list right? see picture included...
 

why not firewire cable , use migration assistant transfer data? worked charm when moved emac macbook

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

i looking around @ best buy , found little bugger. http://www.dynexproducts.com/pc-584-9-dynex-mini-dvi-to-dvi-adapter.aspx yep, that's dvi-i. should able use dvi vga , dvi hdmi adapter on sucker. no need cough money both apple adapters. should able test dvi vga @ least next week.   attached files: a"> dynex.jpg file size: 56.1 kb views: 1,351 the dvi vga adapter never ended working in end. detected there monitor never displayed anything. promptly returned best buy.   Forums Macs Notebooks MacBook Pro iPhone Mac OS & System Software iPad Apple Watch Notebooks iTunes...

How to best wire an entire house mac...(I want a touch screen in my bathroom)

so here's basic idea- have 2 floor apartment , want have total access media @ times. here thoughts on want , how i'm guess done, need advice... watching movies/divx/etc macmini plugged hdtv . mini serve primary machine in apartment. stream videos external hd bay connected airport extreme. control of machine wireless computer concealed tinted glass. itunes direct connection macmini surround receiver first floor. itunes stream airport express base stations upstairs , on terrace, including bathrooms. control of system problem prefer keep on primary machine downstairs, interested in 2 things. if wanted change music playing, don't want have go downstairs, nor want have separate machine control upstairs. investigating touch screens, or using macbook when upstairs or on terrace. there way gain control of macmini on network using different machines in house? program: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-us/products/synchron...
