My PowerBook G4 Died & I need help!

my powerbook g4 (alum) died. i've had 4 years, taken me alaska , on lower 48, , have had nothing happy experiences. knew gonna go, hoping she'd hold on until afford macbook. alas, no. problem appears ability of logic board communicate hard drive. can hear hd spin, disk warrior, cannot locate it. mac geniuses @ local apple store confirmed , gave me shoulder cry on. i've run disk warrior, disk utility, , tried finding using target disk mode - no luck.

problem i've got 4 years of teaching materials, 6000 songs, , irreplaceable pictures on hd, can't bring myself trash it. it's true fail stuff once. once. i've heard pc hard drives, can drop old hd usb hd box , use external hd. can't afford professional data retrevial, , want give option try if it'll work mac hd. ideas or suggestions?

that approach might work if pb's ata bus damaged, if it's hd problem may not. if info on disk valuable, it's worth shot.

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

How to best wire an entire house mac...(I want a touch screen in my bathroom)

so here's basic idea- have 2 floor apartment , want have total access media @ times. here thoughts on want , how i'm guess done, need advice... watching movies/divx/etc macmini plugged hdtv . mini serve primary machine in apartment. stream videos external hd bay connected airport extreme. control of machine wireless computer concealed tinted glass. itunes direct connection macmini surround receiver first floor. itunes stream airport express base stations upstairs , on terrace, including bathrooms. control of system problem prefer keep on primary machine downstairs, interested in 2 things. if wanted change music playing, don't want have go downstairs, nor want have separate machine control upstairs. investigating touch screens, or using macbook when upstairs or on terrace. there way gain control of macmini on network using different machines in house? program: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-us/products/synchron...
