Is this a kernel panic?

i have been using new mbp 3 days now. has locked on me twice already. computer froze , not anything. thing noticed fan started getting louder , louder. had resort holding power button down turn off.

first time happened, believe doing safari , iphoto. second time happened, had connected external display lid closed. opened lid , locked again , fan started getting louder , louder.

kernel panic? hardware or software problem? if hardware related should return/exchange mbp. please let me know think.

way, have airport being intermittent doesn't happen often. have samsung screen , notice very slight yellow on bottom.

first mac , hoping things turn out better. aside these problems, nice machine. guess want not have issues (at least not when it's new).

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

How to best wire an entire house mac...(I want a touch screen in my bathroom)

so here's basic idea- have 2 floor apartment , want have total access media @ times. here thoughts on want , how i'm guess done, need advice... watching movies/divx/etc macmini plugged hdtv . mini serve primary machine in apartment. stream videos external hd bay connected airport extreme. control of machine wireless computer concealed tinted glass. itunes direct connection macmini surround receiver first floor. itunes stream airport express base stations upstairs , on terrace, including bathrooms. control of system problem prefer keep on primary machine downstairs, interested in 2 things. if wanted change music playing, don't want have go downstairs, nor want have separate machine control upstairs. investigating touch screens, or using macbook when upstairs or on terrace. there way gain control of macmini on network using different machines in house? program: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-us/products/synchron...
