best set-up procedure after purchasing mbp

hello, new forum, , 90% ill making plunge tomorrow (just in time cash in on free nano+printer deal) , purchasing entry level mbp portable final cut editing.

question this: hear idea completly charge battery before turn on. give better milage in long run? there else need set-up before install final cut , start working on it?



p.s. i'm hoping use college id card student discount in-store...but graduated last year. can flash id? or confirm w/ school im still attending.

i believe might encounter small problem discount, go ahead , try it, if not buy full price. charging battery before turn on won't of you... in user manual there sentence along lines of "your mbp designed use possible without negative effects" or that. you'll want run software update before start installing final cut, , again after it, optimal installation , performance. other that, can go through setup assistant , install fc, no big deal... of course check defects (not you'll them). luck, mbps awesome, love mine :d

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

How to best wire an entire house mac...(I want a touch screen in my bathroom)

so here's basic idea- have 2 floor apartment , want have total access media @ times. here thoughts on want , how i'm guess done, need advice... watching movies/divx/etc macmini plugged hdtv . mini serve primary machine in apartment. stream videos external hd bay connected airport extreme. control of machine wireless computer concealed tinted glass. itunes direct connection macmini surround receiver first floor. itunes stream airport express base stations upstairs , on terrace, including bathrooms. control of system problem prefer keep on primary machine downstairs, interested in 2 things. if wanted change music playing, don't want have go downstairs, nor want have separate machine control upstairs. investigating touch screens, or using macbook when upstairs or on terrace. there way gain control of macmini on network using different machines in house? program: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-us/products/synchron...
