i in apple retail store yesterday, in seattle, wa, , walked around store hour , half, using 30" acd (which want way), , iphones.
anyways, overheard many discussions between employees , customers, , between "geniuses" , customers , genius bar. 1 employee helping out girl macbook pro, , told him dad wants put windows on laptop, , asked him thinks it, , employee discouraged it, , said windows prone viruses, , it's potentially harmful computer.
employee has no first hand experience windows on macs, or would've known boot camp makes quick, efficient, pain free.
@ point, asked employee if see looks when acd plugged macbook pro, , said "uh.. no. because don't have right cable". wtf??!?!
asked him how power distributed between laptop display , external display, if they're both on, , said "i wouldn't play intense video game both of them on, video card has power run them both!"
sounded consumer, knows nothing video cards, , "knows" has power drive them both, because that's can do. you'd think apple employee sound little bit more sophisticated "it has power drive them both", when asked precisely how video card distributes it's vram between two.
saw employee showing customer macbook pro's. looking @ 17" 1920x1200 screen, , employee didn't know until went system profiler , saw resolution. couldn't tell high resolution looking @ it?
has else had similar experiences in apple stores?
i think know enough educate customer. heck when 13 knew more then people in store, it's if explained something, go off customer doesn't care about. hey, when i'm 16 i'll try , job there(some places hire @ age), turn 16 in few months.
