new imac wierdness

after waiting 2 months new imac, here, , beast. have used target disc mode before, reason won't work now. ibook loads target disc mode fine, imac doesn't see it. have tried unplugging firewire cable , repluging once ibook in target disk mode. have tried resetting imac after ibook in tdm. know firewire port works because shows external drive. there isn't enough room on put whole 60+gb music library. ihave external hdd big enough, i'd rather not transfer twice, , saw article said best way transfer itunes library itunes in tdm. transfer files on external hdd if comes it, don't want miss important files.

it quite odd imac doesn't see ibook in target disk mode.

in opinion best way transport itunes library move entire itunes folder ~/music. you're not going miss files since they're if let itunes organize music.

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

How to best wire an entire house mac...(I want a touch screen in my bathroom)

so here's basic idea- have 2 floor apartment , want have total access media @ times. here thoughts on want , how i'm guess done, need advice... watching movies/divx/etc macmini plugged hdtv . mini serve primary machine in apartment. stream videos external hd bay connected airport extreme. control of machine wireless computer concealed tinted glass. itunes direct connection macmini surround receiver first floor. itunes stream airport express base stations upstairs , on terrace, including bathrooms. control of system problem prefer keep on primary machine downstairs, interested in 2 things. if wanted change music playing, don't want have go downstairs, nor want have separate machine control upstairs. investigating touch screens, or using macbook when upstairs or on terrace. there way gain control of macmini on network using different machines in house? program: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-us/products/synchron...
