new iMac vs Mac Pro

i have gotten tired of waiting mac pro updated , interested know how new imac 2.8 core 2 duo extreme , 1tb hard drive , 4 gigs ram handle working in fcp studio 2 , adobe cs3 master collection software.
naturally add external firewire hardrives video editing,
enjoy running windows games on nice 24 inch screen.
main concern 256 mb video card offered. how limit performance on 24 inch screen?
new imac viable alternative running software mentioned above in reliable , stable way mac pro?
4 gig maximum ram on imac noticeable limit on speed or performance of imac video editing?
advice.
 

i tired of waiting mac pro update in april! when octo cores announced, laughed , bought 4 core mac pro. main reason upgradable nature of mac pro. don't use video editing, heavy photoshop user (files between 500mb , 1.5gb). huge amount of ram can put in thing can't beat. say, grab mac pro , forget updates - enjoy it

How to best wire an entire house mac...(I want a touch screen in my bathroom)

so here's basic idea- have 2 floor apartment , want have total access media @ times. here thoughts on want , how i'm guess done, need advice... watching movies/divx/etc macmini plugged hdtv . mini serve primary machine in apartment. stream videos external hd bay connected airport extreme. control of machine wireless computer concealed tinted glass. itunes direct connection macmini surround receiver first floor. itunes stream airport express base stations upstairs , on terrace, including bathrooms. control of system problem prefer keep on primary machine downstairs, interested in 2 things. if wanted change music playing, don't want have go downstairs, nor want have separate machine control upstairs. investigating touch screens, or using macbook when upstairs or on terrace. there way gain control of macmini on network using different machines in house? program: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-us/products/synchron...
