iWork vs. MS Office

i've been looking purchasing iwork alternative ms office. have question. replacement? of stories have heard , demos have seen..it looks creates graphical things. not plain word documents, presentations, or spreadsheets. true? or basics well?

switched in august new imac along purchase of iwork. kicking myself not doing sooner. have save ton of money not buying vista , office '07. thing delayed switching wanted leopard (waiting looooong time), after seeing new imac, "couldn't" wait longer.

since switch, have gladly handed on laptop wife. think i've used 1 or 2 times since, , 1 of times wife figure out. reason why uses work home.

iwork worth money , simplicity gives complete letters, presentations, , spread sheets.

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

How to best wire an entire house mac...(I want a touch screen in my bathroom)

so here's basic idea- have 2 floor apartment , want have total access media @ times. here thoughts on want , how i'm guess done, need advice... watching movies/divx/etc macmini plugged hdtv . mini serve primary machine in apartment. stream videos external hd bay connected airport extreme. control of machine wireless computer concealed tinted glass. itunes direct connection macmini surround receiver first floor. itunes stream airport express base stations upstairs , on terrace, including bathrooms. control of system problem prefer keep on primary machine downstairs, interested in 2 things. if wanted change music playing, don't want have go downstairs, nor want have separate machine control upstairs. investigating touch screens, or using macbook when upstairs or on terrace. there way gain control of macmini on network using different machines in house? program: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-us/products/synchron...
