G5 + firewire

i'm wondering if known bottlenecks of g5 firewire write speed (barefeats drew conclusion) fixed updates recently, or if people here found solution? has apple moved on problem?

bought 1tb maxtor 1 touch iii, (raid 0) firewire 800. supposed 92 mb/s, 42 through firewire 400. well, in g5 i'm @ 42mb/s in firewire 800 doesn't surprise me because heard these problems before.

looking advice, solutions.

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

How to best wire an entire house mac...(I want a touch screen in my bathroom)

so here's basic idea- have 2 floor apartment , want have total access media @ times. here thoughts on want , how i'm guess done, need advice... watching movies/divx/etc macmini plugged hdtv . mini serve primary machine in apartment. stream videos external hd bay connected airport extreme. control of machine wireless computer concealed tinted glass. itunes direct connection macmini surround receiver first floor. itunes stream airport express base stations upstairs , on terrace, including bathrooms. control of system problem prefer keep on primary machine downstairs, interested in 2 things. if wanted change music playing, don't want have go downstairs, nor want have separate machine control upstairs. investigating touch screens, or using macbook when upstairs or on terrace. there way gain control of macmini on network using different machines in house? program: http://www2.smarttech.com/st/en-us/products/synchron...
