So, just how excessive does heat output on the MacBook Pro really get?

i'm sorry if repeat thread @ all, wanted voice primary concern getting new macbook pro, , i'm hoping of might share experiences me before make purchase.

i'm looking @ getting 15" macbook pro, one:

2.2ghz intel core 2 duo (santa rosa)
1440 x 900 resolution
2gb memory
120gb hard drive
8x double-layer superdrive
nvidia geforce 8600m gt graphics 128mb sdram

used hear horror stories of logic board whining noises , display issues, , part i'm comfortable assuming bugs have been ironed out; real worry heat problems still persistent in product line. read things thermal paste being applied incorrectly , people having go out of way use freeware apps run fans @ higher speeds... little worrisome!

aside using os x, plan on making windows partition on hdd , dualbooting play of pc games half-life 2 , doom 3 under windows vista. i'm not going playing these games on lap, mbp situated on desk... how bad heat output really while running games on macbook pro?

-do fans go insane , become unbearably loud during intense graphic performance?
-does keypad steaming hot play on? need use usb keyboard, or tolerable, or cool?
-is gaming on mbp unpleasant thing? paranoid or there legitimate concerns aware of?

thanks!

i had first core duo mbp, got hot deal on lap.

had no issues whining or screen discoloration. may have gotten lucky.
