Redoing my Room: Needs lots of advice

my birthday coming , don't know want thought maybe should ask have room redone. room sisters she's in college she's not home 1/2 year got it. want make room own , not have hybrid of our styles. need design advice on should here. want go cool modern comfortable while maintaining functionality, , neutrality (color wise, can't paint room bright orange or something.

carpet:
it's off white , i'm going have stick it.

wall color:
biggest decision. right light green color absolutely hate. feminine , don't color green anyways. favorite color blue, don't want room intense or dark having blue walls. go light blue want find right color. go tan/beige color. hallway outside room painted sage green color.

furniture:
keeping desk , bed. i'm planning on getting nice desk chair , removing awful corner hutch. need storage space need replace with. additionally planning on getting new night stands match rest of furniture. not sure go cherry color desk or go dark brown or black wood.

lighting:
plan on getting new lighting well. desk lamp don't ones on night stand. first off old , using them because room dark , match , 1 lamp isn't enough room m light. broke shade on 1 when knocked off table in sleep lol. corner room near desk dark want light area don't know what.

curtains
care less them, think they'll make room feel dark or something. blinds keep out bright sun out of eyes in morning. not sure type go though.

bathroom
i'll need new wall color , color scheme bathroom well. don't know red shower curtain came think horrible. want new carpets because filthy.

bedding
need new sheets anyways doesn't matter, long match else.

pictures , such
think going take down porsche poster, maybe rover poster, , bermuda triangle map. don't know put though. kinda floating shelves or shelves big piece of molding (i don't know name).
