Newby Questions with PowerMac G3 Blue&White

okay, looking @ new imacs because tried video capture/editing on pc , horrible. found powermac g3 tower (blue/white) maybe can use , price right (< $5)
i've done reading , questions are:
can put in type ide hdrive? (i know sees 128gb, that's ok)
can put in type ide dvd+/-rw? (it has cdrw in currently)
can use standard usb keyboard , mouse?
if purchase 10.4 os (which i've read optimum) come video editing software, i-life '07 on new ones? of course won't i-life '07, or '06 matter need standard def. video capture/editing. has firewire on , that's camera uses.
answers can give. *can* new imac keep $1199 in pocket if @ possible.

1. yes can put ide in, newer drive waste since g3 has 33mhz ide bus. go controller card, although don't know if able boot it. also, there driver can buy let os x see bigger drives once booted os x.

2. yes can put dvd burner, again don't know maximum bandwidth out of g3 burning dvds.

3. can use standard usb keyboard , mouse.

4. don't think 10.4 run on g3. have dual 500 g4 , os x run ok on it. , 1gb , 64mb graphics card. it, wouldn't pretty. os using big chunk of resources , wouldn't leave video apps.

os x not come ilife. separate purchase.

while wouldn't need imac. find better older mac getting here. quite don't think usable. cause cheap though refurb/used mini or powermac g4. got dp 500 $75.
