Nikon scanner freezes

i have encountered vexing problem trying nikon 4000 ed scanner work new mac pro. installed both nikon scan , silverfast , every time eject film strip, program freezes , have "force quit" close it. have uninstalled , reinstalled both programs in hope fix problem. no luck. i'm running os x 10.4.10. i've contacted technical support @ nikon , silverfast , far suggestions i've gotten have been uninstall , reinstall software. contacted apple support , technician went through troubleshooting sequence , concluded problem not mac pro or operating system. i'd love hear can solve this. failing that, i'd know if others have been able nikon 4000 ed work silverfast or nikon scan , os x 10.4.10. if others have gotten scanners connected successfully, tell me problem in system not in software. thanks.
 

i have additional info problem reported in original post, namely nikon scanner (4000 ed) freezes when eject film. way of background, have encountered problem silverfast v6.5.1r2 , latest version of nikon scan. computer mac pro running os x 10.4.10. nikon , silverfast technical support has not been helpful far. nor has apple. here latest.

did archive , reinstall of operating system. no change.

tried scanner , silverfast program on wife's mac mini, runs os x 10.3.9 (panther) , not intel-mac. worked fine, i.e., program did not freeze on setup when ejected filmstrip. clue?

made appointment "mac genius" @ local apple store , brought mac pro , scanner in. wound trying scanner , silverfast program on 2 machines in store, i.e., new imac , mac pro, both running os x 10.4.10. program froze on machines in same way on mac pro.

so, looks silverfast program not compatible either intel-mac or os x 10.4.10 or both. can't tell which.

if reads post using program equipment, know that. otherwise, think flaw in software, either silverfast program or in os.

if can offer solution, i'd delighted have help.

MacBook hang up PLEASE HELP!

ok want macbook. im waiting couple of things. first of leapord of course. secondly when next hardware update going happen because figure must judgeing when last update was. things thats holding me getting 1 graphics card. want light video editing such capturing footage or small sd projects use imac hd , large project editing. light gaming, aoe iii, battlefield games, , wow. can wait while before end of year/ january. when guys think update happen (i know there bunch of speculation already) , if not guys think should go ahead , macbook (after leapord update of course). im not looking absolutly stellar performance in editing , gaming, have desktop that, travel , general use. dont want 1 of people goes "well whats coming should wait that" because in computers never end. im in bit of conundrum, guys think should do?   also if possible can tell me gma 950 card far how video preview works fin...

okay im going lay down problem explian have tried. cool responces. problem have external program saves files path blaa/blaa/movies way in saves these movies compreses movies files 1 file in folder. eg puts different compents folder bundles them delates orginals. problem disc saving doesnt have enough room movies needs store. cant set location of store movies have try route them somewhere. first of when tried making alias folder on different disk program gave me message saying cant save file. thinking of thought make workflow gets items in folder movies them location. tested work flow , worked perfectly. problem getting automated when ever file made in directory. script came , attacheted vie folder actions doesnt work ??? wtf?? help? on adding folder items this_folder after receiving added_items tell application "macintosh hd:users:username:library:workflows:applications:folder actions:moviefile.app" open added_items end...
