associated press (via forbes.com) reveals apple has spent $720,000 on lobbying u.s. federal government thus-far in 2007.

topics of interest apple appear updating u.s. patent system, , advocacy of bills increase funding technology in education , provide tax breaks spending on research , development.

many technology companies, including apple, interested in update patent system weed out bad patents allowing companies re-evaluate them after granted. such update limit costly court battles.
