i'm sorry if topic has been discussed before, did search on board, , couldn't clear answer. here situation. i'm building digital movie library ripping of dvds own, lots of people did got iphone & ipod touch.

however, there different kinds of dvds in terms of aspects, such full screen, widescreen, enchanced 16:9 etc. regardless of confusing terminology, found region 1 dvds (north american)can broken down 3 different aspect ratios, 4:3, 1.85:1 , 2.35:1.

i'm trying convert dvds best quality settings, cuz i'm going watch on both macbook pro , future iphone (coming soon). file size isn't issue me, since in cases have 1 or 2 movies in iphone.

know best resolution of movies can put on iphone 640*480@30fps , 2.5mbps. guess best can out of regular non-widescreen movie has ratio of 4:3.

question movies of ratio 1.85:1 , 2.35:1, best resolution can make playable on iphone, following suggestion came across on board.
480x272 (16:9 aspect) or 480x204 (2.35 aspect)

i can see care quality. either aspect playable on ipt or iphone. want preserve whatever original aspect of dvd.

New iMac here - LOVING the Mighty Mouse

i have mbp, , talked wife getting imac after dell (she loathed machine, made sell easy) crapped bed. when deciding on bluetooth mouse mbp, passed on mighty mouse wireles becasue of review here seemed negative. ordered corded version imac came friday. long story short, have been using mm , found quite enjoyable! in fact prefer logitech v220 im using now. found out have tendency lift left finger off botton when using normal 2 button mouse. made use of mm natural me. absolute best part of mm freaking scroll ball. orgasmic use!! l o v e mechanical smoothness , feel of ball in motion. using app steermouse able fine tune puppy perfect. on fence mm, let me assure pretty awesome, , person ultra picky point of ocd mice.   good review! imac prepared shipping, should coming in few days. i'm going using standard wired mm comes it, positive feedback on it. worried going horrible,...
