My first Mac

i have come on dark side mac pro 2.66 quad.

used exclusively home recording studio occasional internet browse.

confused original 250 gb hard drive comes mac pro. os on drive or elsewhere? how swap out if is? excuse noobness.


need following recommendations guys if could. folks. want "bang buck".

3 500 gb internal hdd (was thinking of getting seagates $150 newegg) these noisy. wd quieter?

may external drive backup internal drive have projects on it. lacie, glyph, seagate or wd?

3 22" monitors (what rec?)

i'll need graphic card power third monitor, right? thinking of close approx. of factory one, seem think isn't good. should go better set of two?

planning on getting 4 gb of ram crucial. have been told ram needs installed in pairs. if factory 1 gb in there other four, shouldn't additional 1 gb of ram make total 6? how work? or 5 gb going able used?

have bluetooth installed in mac pro. wireless keyboard/mouse get?

advice , please gentle. :/

1) think can format stock harddisk. os on install cds (like said, think)

2) studio mac pro @ college had wd drives, quiet anything. can't offer comparison seagate.

3) erm, display thing: ideal setup 2 acds, sweet using logic.

4) i'd new apple wireless keyboard , mighty mouse :)

5) lacie, seagate , wd make external drives (never had experience glyph.

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

New iMac here - LOVING the Mighty Mouse

i have mbp, , talked wife getting imac after dell (she loathed machine, made sell easy) crapped bed. when deciding on bluetooth mouse mbp, passed on mighty mouse wireles becasue of review here seemed negative. ordered corded version imac came friday. long story short, have been using mm , found quite enjoyable! in fact prefer logitech v220 im using now. found out have tendency lift left finger off botton when using normal 2 button mouse. made use of mm natural me. absolute best part of mm freaking scroll ball. orgasmic use!! l o v e mechanical smoothness , feel of ball in motion. using app steermouse able fine tune puppy perfect. on fence mm, let me assure pretty awesome, , person ultra picky point of ocd mice.   good review! imac prepared shipping, should coming in few days. i'm going using standard wired mm comes it, positive feedback on it. worried going horrible,...
