Mac OS X Leopard: Unrealistic Expectations?...

in couple of different threads different users have asked compelling reasons update leopard... seems expectations high, , new features aren't creating buzz people.

starting think expectations of apple's current os model built on microsoft released in vista. vista touted major sea-change when juxtaposed xp - same way apple went os9 x. leopard seeing further evolution of x - , yet, being larger incremental change, still in fact leaps , bounds ahead of vista in can achieve. in fact, tiger stands has better executed features , in-line applications vista.

spaces - me thats going expose - cant remember how lived without now. whenever use mac without expose , find myself hitting f9 , nothing happens... oh man! mean have start moving windows out of way 'find' window?... know spaces going revolutionise how interact mac - again!

time machine - unless have been in position when hit 'save' instead of 'save as' or when delete folder find image within folder linked document someplace never know how valuable awesome new feature going be...

ichat theatre & quicklook - collaborating , presenting work / ideas / etc others became whole new big deal... when other's start implement quicklook documents better - can imagine having open document in photoshop , hitting quicklook button 'show' client via ichat - want see change? jump ps, make change, hit ql button - , boom... idea...

quicklook - no more having keep preview, quicktime, textedit et al open @ various files...

so... people holding out on 'secret features' etc etc because want see mac os xi? can imagine true sea-change.

i'm starting see apple's ease of use, accessibility, ui & industrial design starting create situation whereby industry leader revolutionising markets in such simple ways 'new apple thing' belies effect has on way interact , use our apple hard/software. take iphone touchscreen recent example, gets use wowed it, , pick on fluid natural way interact device. same natural interaction makes 'new' thing feel has existed - else feels 'old'. i've used expose example - right have 9 active windows on desktop, can't imagine not having expose manage windows (even counting how many active windows have have been difficult without expose!). yet expose part of evolution of x, not part of sea-change os - still revolutionised way work... example - time machine, yes, it's - it's simplicity of use belies achieves me within workflow , everyday life - it's feature make massive impact on how work.

if dont think there compelling in leopard make upgrade should stick os version have - , wait until apple release compelling enough version of os suits needs. me, leopard has enough compelling features make me upgrade x once it's released....

there's enough there me upgrade
