Final Cut codec/compressor question

i bought copy of final cut express 3.5 on ebay run on g5. have person converting old vhs tapes dvds me. favor, willing export copy of material in format ready me edit clips youtube. he's not mac person (shame!), says can export file in many different ways , needs know want. problem is, don't know!

question (i think) this: codec/compressor should friend use native and/or comes final cut express? want edit short 3-5 minutes clips have decent video/audio quality youtube.

might able figure out eventually, he's working on tapes , won't have final cut express in hands week or so. plus - i'm total newbie final cut , video editing.

you'll want him export dv video, beware, files large, might want give him external harddrive dump files to.

*test* short clip of 1 of files before goes , whole stack of vhs tapes. there slight chance have problems.

can test playback in imovie if don't receive fce in time.
in fact, first attempt recommend imovie.

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

New iMac here - LOVING the Mighty Mouse

i have mbp, , talked wife getting imac after dell (she loathed machine, made sell easy) crapped bed. when deciding on bluetooth mouse mbp, passed on mighty mouse wireles becasue of review here seemed negative. ordered corded version imac came friday. long story short, have been using mm , found quite enjoyable! in fact prefer logitech v220 im using now. found out have tendency lift left finger off botton when using normal 2 button mouse. made use of mm natural me. absolute best part of mm freaking scroll ball. orgasmic use!! l o v e mechanical smoothness , feel of ball in motion. using app steermouse able fine tune puppy perfect. on fence mm, let me assure pretty awesome, , person ultra picky point of ocd mice.   good review! imac prepared shipping, should coming in few days. i'm going using standard wired mm comes it, positive feedback on it. worried going horrible,...
