i got generic 19" lcd monitors use spares @ work , decided i'd better test them before return/exchange window closes. (had 1 panel previous purchase big red dot in middle.) hooked old yikes g4 via dvi , it's not showing panel's native resolution option. video card stock. original ati rage 128 pro agp 16 megs. nothing's hooked analog port, new panel on dvi. available options 640x480, 800x600, , 1024x768 both stretched , non-stretched, 1280x1024 (unstretched, assume; there's 1 choice). available @ 8, 16, , 32 bit color depths.
displays preferences panel correctly identifies monitor cmv939d , gives me option cmv939d color profile correct resolution (1440x900) not available.
if connect monitor via analog, have correct native resolution available slew of additional non-native resolutions aren't options using dvi connection. suppose analog acceptable if 1 of these monitors happened end being connected 1 of our few remaining yikes workstations it'd nice able use best connection available.
ideas? dvi output on these cards limited 1280x1024?
