Disk Utility Keeps Crashing while Reformating

hey there guys , gals.

ive been wanting reformat 120gb hdd ive had laying around can use backup of ps3.

used use backup of mac, disk utility, had formated os journal extended. (because of believe, when plug via usb, ps3 or pc wont see it).

now, ive erased info within , trying reformat via disk utility everytime attempt this, disk utility stops responding...

solutions problem? wanna reformat baby if means using pc reformat (windows xp pro) ill take solution cant see see pc , again, disk utility keeps crashing.

remedy appreciated always.

edit:
when turn off hard drive , turn on, get
i have option of ignore, eject or initialize (and launches me disk utility , there have problem over)

MacBook hang up PLEASE HELP!

ok want macbook. im waiting couple of things. first of leapord of course. secondly when next hardware update going happen because figure must judgeing when last update was. things thats holding me getting 1 graphics card. want light video editing such capturing footage or small sd projects use imac hd , large project editing. light gaming, aoe iii, battlefield games, , wow. can wait while before end of year/ january. when guys think update happen (i know there bunch of speculation already) , if not guys think should go ahead , macbook (after leapord update of course). im not looking absolutly stellar performance in editing , gaming, have desktop that, travel , general use. dont want 1 of people goes "well whats coming should wait that" because in computers never end. im in bit of conundrum, guys think should do?   also if possible can tell me gma 950 card far how video preview works fin...

okay im going lay down problem explian have tried. cool responces. problem have external program saves files path blaa/blaa/movies way in saves these movies compreses movies files 1 file in folder. eg puts different compents folder bundles them delates orginals. problem disc saving doesnt have enough room movies needs store. cant set location of store movies have try route them somewhere. first of when tried making alias folder on different disk program gave me message saying cant save file. thinking of thought make workflow gets items in folder movies them location. tested work flow , worked perfectly. problem getting automated when ever file made in directory. script came , attacheted vie folder actions doesnt work ??? wtf?? help? on adding folder items this_folder after receiving added_items tell application "macintosh hd:users:username:library:workflows:applications:folder actions:moviefile.app" open added_items end...
