OS X won't start up, permissions won't repair

after few messy shut downs, os x won't start up, hangs @ wallpaper no desktop. tried repairing permissions "a valid package cannot found", tried repairing disk, didn't work, tried defragging disk, didn't work.

popped in os x cd , tried archive , install, option preserve users , settings (so take music etc.) greyed out... why hell?

save me :(
 

okay, slow down sec. in order repair disk, must repair install dvd (or single user mode). go dvd, , instead of following install prompts, menus, run disk utility. use repair disk. not use repair permissions.

if work repairing disk, try booting off it, see if can os x, , try repairing permissions.

Mini-DVI to DVI-I?

New iMac here - LOVING the Mighty Mouse

i have mbp, , talked wife getting imac after dell (she loathed machine, made sell easy) crapped bed. when deciding on bluetooth mouse mbp, passed on mighty mouse wireles becasue of review here seemed negative. ordered corded version imac came friday. long story short, have been using mm , found quite enjoyable! in fact prefer logitech v220 im using now. found out have tendency lift left finger off botton when using normal 2 button mouse. made use of mm natural me. absolute best part of mm freaking scroll ball. orgasmic use!! l o v e mechanical smoothness , feel of ball in motion. using app steermouse able fine tune puppy perfect. on fence mm, let me assure pretty awesome, , person ultra picky point of ocd mice.   good review! imac prepared shipping, should coming in few days. i'm going using standard wired mm comes it, positive feedback on it. worried going horrible,...
