Multiplexing Error during iDVD6 encoding.

i googled , found threads occurring in previous versions of idvd. not in idvd6. i'm experiencing problem.

when save disc image, after encoding done message saying there error during burning, message comes saying there multiplexing error. i've tried 3 different times.

here project info. 110 minutes, using theme 6.0 shelves. title has 3 jpegs , 1 minute song play , chapter button. there 4 chapter pages of 6 chapters on each. each chapter page set 30 second loop movie buttons , song.

here gist of problem. save disc image , when finishes error messages mentioned above. first 2 times tried burning dvd using disk utility. dvds burned both failed verification @ 98%. when played in dvd player on tv dvds work final 2-3 chapters real sketchy, showing scenes other chapters , garbled voice-overs sound aliens fornicating. final chapter freezes , sends me menu. on computer using dvd player app chapters crash player , message saying disc scratched (even when playing disc image...)

here i've done try , fix problem.

repaired permissions, checked original project in imovie, re-did chapters, re-shared imovie idvd each of 3 times i've tried encode it.


has else had problem when dealing idvd6? how did past it?

encoding smaller test dvdproject see if works. may try cutting chapters , may try encoding project on internal hd rather external fw hd....although never had problems before when working external.


else can do?

edit: small test dvdproject saved disc image no errors...going try encoding project on internal hd now.

edit2: wow, transferred dvdproject internal , chose save disc image. encoded , made image in less 2 hours, whereas on external hd(fw) taking 8 hours! also, multiplexing error did not show , upon playing .img in dvd player appears in working order. 1 other change did make project before attempting encode on internal removed transitions (push) chapters...i hate think that problem i'm going put dvdproject on external , save disc image on external...see if error crops again.

well, seems solved own problem, hope can maybe @ least else had problem.

i'll post regarding encoding again on external.

 

well, have projects on external hd(firewire) , save disc image internal. should try have @ least 10-15 gigs free on internal before save disc image also. i'm glad got working though. i'm going try out dvd studio pro here on out. haven't played @ all, i've decided i've got learn. i'm pretty comfortable fcp now, watched lot of online video tutorials me out , dug , made movie trip.

maybe reason taking long had write data , forth between ext. hd. brings data across in 1 direction. , thats amazing if encoded 2 hours of video in 2 hours.
