Loss of sound

hey guys,

listening music in itunes , heard pop speakers , there no sound @ all, though song still playing. tried play other songs in itunes there no sound restarted itunes , clicked on different song, heard pop , music came again.

idea caused happen? log files reveal nothing apart in console.log - "missing or invalid cross-reference stream." not sure if it's relevant.

appreciated! i've had computer 3 months , time problem has happened.

disk utility gives ominous message -

verifying volume “macintosh hd”

(it should 43 instead of 47)

volume needs repair

note how says "the volume volume ntosh hd needs repaired" that's actual message gave me.

so, tried disk utility again few minutes later , tells me volume passed verification. have verified permissions didn't tell me had fixed time, said permissions had been repaired.

when happened in chatroom used flash on firefox. not sure if maybe have caused problem.

registered apple care, maybe it's time run tech tool deluxe?

 

yeah, repair drive. can boot osx discs , use version of disk utility you. continue running repairs until makes no changes.
