the details complex ... but, short version of ... lets say, computer stopped functioning (drive failure) , drive used backups failed. contact list on iphone (300+ contacts) options ? keep in mind, need restore blank computer never saw iphone. now, make things more interesting ... installed 3rd apps on phone. how totally screwed ? anyway extract contact , calendar data iphone , wipe version before new update ? way, can restore data , bring phone current ? so tried replace hd on macbook, when sliding new hd in snagged on rubber rails , pulled 1 of them off. couldn't hd in rail stuck in hd bay. managed lose 1 of screws fastens hd caddy.
