i've never used windows before, except few times @ school's library. therefore have no clue in terms of virus protection, spyware, , rest of it. there comprehensive guide setting up? have suggestions free or cheap virus , spyware protection? know has been posted before, maybe make sticky, basics of windows new users, because there isn't 1 yet.   i use microsoft defender malware protection , avg free version antivirus. cost end being 0 of course. although on main box dont run either because dont go weird or mystery sites. dont go looking free music or 'warez' , dont open mystery email attachments. far i've been clean without aid of 3rd party apps 2.5 years. scan once month or using trend's online product free , thats how know system clean. if wish go mystery sites or download things shouldnt , if going use windows, i'd use above. ps. d...

hello, knowledgeable in area please give me feedback ram module purchased 3rd party vendor. first pic of ram ordered ibook g3 466mhz , comes vendors website , second front/back views of ram received. know if it's possible identify ram received being apple compatible , if same type above pic. thanks.   the g3 ibook came in 366mhz & 500mhz flavors (among others), don't recall 466. in case following specs: module size: 128, 256, 512mb package: 144-pin sodimm feature: sdram, pc133 specs: sdram, pc133 • cl=3 • non-parity • 133mhz • 3.3v • 64meg x 64 ...are required 500mhz. 366mhz didn't support 512mb modules (128 & 256 only). assuming correct processor, package "seems" right. who'd buy from? in experience, wrong ram (as long form factor right) 1 of 2 things: prevents 'puter booting, or boot not see ram. i'm sure pipe...
